Pressure Washers

What is the best make with regards a pressure washer?
I know Karcher do a lot of marketing, but in general that means they are making up for a poorer product. Am i right in this assumption or am i being unfair?
I want something that will last.....

A friend of mine at the bike shop used to use Karcher and got two or three years from a machine in regular use, 3 or 4 days a week. He bought a cheap one from Netto or similar when they were open and found it lasted just as long so now he uses the cheap ones and keeps a spare in stock for breakdowns and parts. Karcher domestic units are no worse than the others but they do industrial units as well.

One of those things where if you want it to put up with heavy use and have high performance, you have to pay serious money.

Mine's an £80 cheapy. I probably use it three or four times a year. It can do things in ten minutes which would take hours to do by hand and does them better, like washing all the algae and grot from a concrete garage and washing out a cement mixer properly.

If it died, I'd think it was a bit early, but I've pretty much had £80 of use out of in the year I've had it.

If you haven't had a tool before, one advantage to buying a cheapy is that you can find out if it's a thing you'll use, rather than spend a lot of money on something you turn out not to use.

I can't help with Karcher vs the rest, Nilfisk, Wicke's own brand etc.

I think that's a dangerous assumption. Stihl do a lot of marketing. They compete at the bottom end with stuff that from what I've seen, is better than the usual at that sort of price, and the top end stuff is top end price and top end quality.

Still happy with the nilfisk ,we don't have netto anywhere near here ....aldi and lidl offerings have been very close in price to the nilfisk...(used to be kew iirc)...

Wow you guys like spending money. I bought my refurbished Karcher for just over £30. Looked like new and has been working for two years now. Probably 20 hours of use so far, maybe more.
