Spanish plugs are 16 amp anyway, and not fused either. But each room has its own breaker unlike the UK. Doesn’t matter how close I get to the incoming supply, we are the last on the line, last house up this lane. I am thinking a petrol machine is the way to go, much as I don’t want to. I still have memories of a strimmer and a lawn mower that used to test my patience every time I wanted to to use them.

If you really don't want to go fuel/engine, you may be able to upgrade your electricity supply buy installing a decent sized hybrid inverter, PV and batteries.

With a good sized hybrid inverter it will add to the house side electricity network and boost your supply capacity.

You could even probably get away without the battery system if you promised yourself you'd only pressure wash when it's sunny. As it's Spain.

However, that's really a sledgehammer to crack a nut. Maybe, if it was something you were considering anyway.

Ive just bought another Yanmar diesel bowser trailer with a 21lpm /100 bar CAT pump on it cheaper than a generic petrol trolly type (needs wheel bearings and a new hitch)...this is ideal for your application and worthy of a thought maybe.

If you do, just get one with a genuine Honda engine. They just work.

Blimey. Its like camping then ! But then again, it is what it is. We get power cuts quite often here, and it is amazing how much the near neighbours moan about it.

One of those things that is very much taken for granted these days, much like water at the tap. Unlike many other parts of the world.

Re the pump ...... I am not pressure washer expert dot com, but I understand its always best to get one with a brass or stainless steel pump if you can run to it. They last much longer, and are more forgiving of carp in the water.

Just looked for Ava on Amazon, nothing.

Honda petrol ones are only available from the UK so import taxes etc.

Non brand petrol ones on Amazon, cheap enough but quite a few 1 star reviews.

See what I mean? All they buy over here is cheap junk. What a mission.

I bought a cheap petrol knock off honda power washer about twenty years ago and its still going strong, its had a lot of use, more damage to it than wear. Linky!

Does the pump look OK? I don’t know much about the pumps except that Interpump are very good.

I don't see interpump mentioned on that page and it doesn't look like any interpump I've ever seen.

Interpump make triplex crank driven pumps, the one in the ad is an axial pump probably made in China. It has a cheap aluminium head.

For your use engine driven is the only way to go. Ideally it would be a Honda engine with an interpump pump. Other good pumps would be hawk, cat or speck.
Avoid annovi reverbi. They are a cheap copy of an Interpump and they are rubbish.
Have you tried looking in farm or industrial supplies places? Farmers generally buy decent washers to get longevity.

You will likely have to feed the washer from a tank if your water pressure is as bad as your electricity. Crank pumps work a lot better than axial pumps for sucking water.

I bought a second hand “Wilkes” brand washer (16hp), way more than I needed but it was really cheap because it’s not a real Honda gx390/450 ( it’s a knock off, works very well), and the pump unit is same as generally available on ebay as a generic. Other than that there isn’t really anything proprietary that you couldn’t get spares for. Maybe look for something 4hp / 5 hp? Easy to maintain and not relying on rubbish mains leccy

The cheap petol ones are not bad at all, just used my mighty aldi/lidl (I forget which!) one today for the first time in many months, 4/5 pulls and she was away.
A guy down the boat yard also had one and he was chucking it on the scrap pile, after asking him why has was dumping it he said he had owned had it for many years and never serviced it/changed the oil/plug etc and felt it was time for a new one!

There was a time when I’d have made a cart, but with the crappy electric supply there’s no point in owning a welder

No need for a bowser, have taps on all 4 sides of the house and decent water pressure too.

You wont need a buffer tank with a W140 anyway...good pumps/pressure but a bit low on flow being 12lpm. i have one on my bench right now in for a seal kit.
