Ok a while back a mate of mine turned me some titanium to make some handles for some old wood chisels that I was reluctant to throw away. He's done an absolutely beautiful job on turning the handles, the he decided to fit them too, this is where things have gone wrong. He hadn't made the hole in the handle quite large enough and then proceeded to press on to the tang. Thing is half the tang is exposed on both the chisels and it looks awful, I've tried everything I can and I can't seem to shift them either way, even tried heating to as hot as I can with oxy propane but still no joy.
Any one got any suggestions as to how I can get the handles off before I resort to cutting, shortening the tang, drilling out stuck bit, making hole bigger and then fitting in correctly, but this time brazing the connection as I had asked him to in the first place
