Preparing a Weld For Spraying

Hi;

I have been doing some patch welding on my Mini (rust holes in the floor and arches etc).

Because I did not have enough time to do the job in one go I sprayed the area with Acid 8 HERE.

I now need to finish the weld and prepare for spraying.

1. Do I need to remove all the primer before welding?
2. Once a patch is applied and the weld is ground down with a flap disc do the welded areas need to be seam sealed? This is a patch in a floor etc and not a complete panel being welded to another?
3. Is U Pol Seam Sealer from Halfords OK? HERE?

4. Once its sealed I guess I'll prime and spray.

Etch prime it with Acid 8 before you do any seem sealing.

So let me get this right:

1. Grind down the weld.
2. Prime the bare metal with Acid Etch.
3. Sand primer as required.
4. Seam Seal the weld join.
4. Apply top coat.

I have to seal all the edges of some riveted in bits on some vintage
bike tin, I was going to use the cheapest polyurethane from
toolstation[it's cheap and there is free delivery].

Paint sticks to it OK?

Yes its overpaintable,but like most sticky stuff,give it time to go off/cure,at least 12hrs+,use gloves(try not to get it on your hands) dampened with plain water if you want to smooth it over,forget trying to brush it,it ruins brushes even trying to wash it out with white sprits.
The repairs underneath of my transit is covered in it,so far am very please with it
