predator auto mask. any good?

first of all i would like to say thanks to everyone on here for their posts as it has taught me loads before starting out. i bought a sip weldmate (before coming across this site ) but have acheived some resonable welds with it in my practice sessions so far using the hand held mask. i now why everyone else has auto darkening masks! i've seen the predator mask on ebay for £28 delivered and would like to know if anyone knows of any reason to steer clear and fork out the extra for another mask or recomend one? bearing in mind i am on a limited budget. cheers

Let's put it this way, a decent Autoshield through a specialist welding equipment distributor costs us more than that...buying 50 at a time!
So, in summary, they are highly unlikely to conform to relevant safety standards... otherwise the manufacturer would be supplying major wholesalers, instead of shunting them 'through the back door'

Yes, nice mask, manufactured by Oprtel (Switzerland). Cost you Northwards of 150 quid new though; if it's S/H be carefull

i just bought a helmet from the miller performance series and i absolutely love it.it has the grind mode which is really helpful.retail off millers site is 255 US but i got it on ebay for 200 US
