I've just thrown my teddy out after I spent the last hour making bird poo welds on the floorpan I was wleding in (I have had an 8mth break). I was getting the weld burning back to the shroud, blowing holes, I couldn't get a decent wled whatever I tried.
Half hour later after calming down & re-reading the tutorials, I measured the wire speed which was ok for 0.8-1mm I am welding, then got the welder on the bench & did some practice welds on 1mm sheet on the lowest 2 settings and varying the wire speed slightly - perfecto! Lovely welds now every time.
All I need to do now is practice plug welds again the put this to good use on the floorpan tommorrow night after work.
