Powercraft 180i wirefeed won't adjust?

Hi guys.
I have a powercraft 180i 3 in 1 that has a wirefeed adjustment problem where it's stuck at one speed and won't adjust. I have the synergy set to manual and the digital read out works fine, but the motor speed won't change. I know it's not the motor as it will blast along at high speed when I depress the wire advance button. I've had a good look around and can't find the right advice on where to look first. The most common cause on most machines is a shorted power transistor in the motor drive circuit.

Thought I could add a couple of pics of the boards in the hope someone could circle anything of interest that I should be checking

I will add that when I got the machine the connection on the end of the polarity lead that is connected to the inside the machine was burnt out and broken from what seemed to be a loose connection.

Unfortunately I have no idea where that is on the board. Is this something I can check myself or should I be taking this to a shop?

On a simple machine it would be cheap enough to swap all the components on the speed control board, but this one is a different kettle of fish.

Someone on here may have a similar machine, or even a circuit diagram. I'd hang on a while and see what turns up before spending your money.
