Power usage plug?

Don't know if it's the right term but does anyone know of a plug adapter that will tell the power consumption/usage of an appliance that's plugged into it? There's plenty of smart plugs, WiFi controlled which can probably give power consumption but I'm not bothered about controlling the plug and don't have WiFi in the barns anyway! If simple one not available any recommendations for one of the "smart" types that would give a digital readout without WiFi?

Is there no manufacturer's rating label on the appliance? Or are you actually needing a "mini" meter to calculate power x time?

Edit, looks like I am behind the times, those devices do measure overall power x time.

Jesus! Just want to know if the 2kw heaters are actually 2kw! Watching that video has just confirmed my dislike of electronics and reaffirmed my love of all things mechanical!

I have a few of the sort shown above, they work ok but can be hard to read.

I imagine you wont want to mess about with it, but I use these for my projects (lathe vfd, furnace). They need an enclosure and clip the transformer around one of the AC wires, and look quite good in my opinion. ( first ebay link of it I could find)
