Hello, I recently bought a Clarke 130en it is fitted with a 13amp plug, 230v, my question was could I use this with my normal house hold plug sockets, or would it damage anything, or would using a extention cable help, thanks

youre 130en will be fine on a 13amp plug. only use extension leads when absolutely necessary, and If you do, use one with a thick cable and keep it as short as you can. this will all help to make sure you don't pop fuses.

Yes, it is fine to use from a domestic supply. You may get a couple of fuses blow, either in the plug or the house fuses or trips. This shouldn't be frequent though, but it may happen. It'll be more likely at high power. Any extension cable needs to be fairly thick and fully unraveled and keep checking it to make sure it isn't getting hot.

your domestic supply has cable and an mcb capable of carrying 32amps safely. You welder will probably only use around 12. After all there is a 13 amp fuse in the plug to protect the cable to the welder so if that is still intact all will be fine. I used to use a snap on 150 on domestic supply and i currently use my 160 amp inverter up to around 150 amps before it blows the fuse. Your welder may blow the fuse in the plug occasionally if you are using it alot it warm weather and using it on top settings for long periods, but then its just a case of un plug it, open the plug up and change the fuse
