power supply for kende 150 mig welder

hi guys i bought a kende mig welder from screwfix around 3/4 week ago when it came it did not have a plug fitted but the wire wasent bare either it had little metal fitments on the end like i have drew in the picture i have just cut theys off and wired on a 13amp plug seems to work fine on 17v and 18v but when i get to 20v and 21v its trips my gennie out now is that just beacuse my gennie is not powerful enough to run at that high of amp ? if so would it work to the max pluged into a normal house hold power suppy

gennies hasnt the capacity to run at full whack welder will run on a 13 amp plug but will eventualy blow the fuse at full load sooner or later but dont wurry
