Power supply configuration for welder.

I know similar questions have been asked on the forum but just checking the planned configuration for my welder.

All of the other circuits on the consumer unit are rcbos but as the welder needs type d, i will need to put in a 32amp type d mcb, i plan then to run 6mm to a 30milli amp rcd in a separate enclosure and then onto a 32amp blue round socket.

The question I have is do you recommend a rotary isolator as well even though there is the rcd there ?

if it was me, I would certainly give it serious consideration, Isolate the socket when not in use, small children are inquisitive and its easy to flip the cover up and poke things in. We put a 32 amp outlet in my Sons garage, the isolator is about 5 feet up and the socket outlet is about 4 feet up, if it gets knocked or broken he knows its dead. You may have to hunt to get the isolator, 32A-- quite a big amperage.
With regard to the leagal side of the instalation-- sorry not got a clue, thats what Electricians are for.

If you're concerned about safety, install an interlocked socket can't be turned on without a plug inserted.

I already have the plug and socket but was considering just flicking the mcb or rcd off when finished with the welding but I reckon I will fit a rotary isolator as a 'proper switch' to shut off the power to the socket.
