Pot blaster

Hi,

I no this has been covered before, but reading the threads doesn't give a solid answer,
I have a siphon grit blaster I find it useless.

Have read about the pot blasters, thinking about getting one
No one has suggested wich is the best one to buy
10 gallon ?
20 gallon ?

There is one on e bay 20 gallon free delivery about 75 pounds ?

Is the pot system a lot better team siphon

Go for the 20 gall - you save time by not having to stop to fill as often as the 10 gall.

Yes, the pot system is better than a syphon. Keep your syphon for doing the bits you miss.

Before you think about a pot blaster you need to think about your compressor as grit blasting requires lots of air.

What compressor are you useing to run your siphon gun?

it will work fine with a 3mm nozzle and easily hold your pressure to 90 psi

buy the carbide jet cut the existing one of the new pot and fit it on the end of the blast hose using a jubily clip. i think ace shotblasters do the jets here http://www.blastitclean.co.uk/look down the list of spares there pots are crap mind and overpriced depending on what u are blasting if its a l;ot get the 20 gal one if not a great deal get the 10 gallon one . they fill faster and empty of air quicker

what i mean is the smaller10 gallon pot will fill with air faster than the 20 gallon one will and will also exhaust the air in the tank faster when u shut it off so u dont have to wait as long. heres mine

as cheap as possible under 100 quid there all the same just cut the crap nozzle of the end and fit the carbide jet and u turn it on and off at the air supply ball valve

Someone suggested to me that an old spark plug ceramic stem makes a great nozzle - just jubilee clip it into a length of rubber hose. They are ceramic and pretty cheap I suppose. Not tried it myself yet - I wonder if anyone else has?

well if the bore is 3mm have a go but quite personaly i wouldnt waste my time for something that cost 17 quid and will last u your lifetime
