Portamig 186 V R-Tec 180

Hi All

I am looking for advice on which welder to buy old Sealey one died I have whittled it down to two first a Portamig 186 15-185 amp an old traditional welder coming in at £669.00.

The second is an R-Tec 180 amp inverter welder coming in at £594.00 the price difference is not an issue it is about getting the best mig for the job.

The reason I want one is I am in the middle of restoring an old campervan it is a running project I use it in the summer and have been doing the restoration in the winter mostly repairing and replacing panels still a lot to do and I have never used an inverter mig any help/advice appreciated.

Portamig with out question of a doubt

I regrettably sold mine and it was absolutely perfect with no running issues ever

Same can’t and will never be said for Chinese rebranded machines that break down all the time

Technical make the portamig, Oxford and one or two other ranges. Similar specs but minor differences between them
