My Marlin Roadster is a SWB and I want to extend the perimeter frame type chassis (100mm x 50mm x 3mm) rails under the door aperture by 6" to create exactly the same as the factory LWB version.
Rather than buying a pick-up I've decided to convert my Mahindra MM540 into a Gaucho replica -
The above picture is a "stretched" Jeep. The Mahindra is exactly the same front & cab (other than door shape) so not a difficult project.
Chassis is earlier (WWII) design and straight open C section rails so will be easy to extend.
Then there are two planned microcar ideas that will require chassis being built from scratch.
What I therefore could do with is a simple ladder shape chassis jig. Problem is lack of space to store such so it'd have to be portable, dismantleable and each section light enough to be manhandled by one person.
Any suggestions, ideas, opinions appreciated
Cheers.
