I am thinking of doing my car floor inside and out with the por15 rust preventative paint, but on one website i have seen a video of it being used and it says to spray it with a cleaning chemical then wash off with running water, would it work properly if i just painted the por15 straight onto the rust because obviously i can't hose the inside of the car ?

You only got it the other day
But seriously There was a test going on in one of the classic car mags a couple of months ago where they painted on various rust treatment/remover/preventer products to the bonnet of I think a ford seria. They would then look at the results in a later edition. I did not get that later edition so have yet to see the results. What I have been doing whilst working on my project is to cut out and replace rot. Remove surface rust and give a spray with phosphoric acid product. BnQ do 2lt metal restorer and MM do a similar product (but dearer per lt) Use in one of thoses spray bottles £1 in cheep jack shop or garden sprayer or the wifes empty cleaner spray bottles. Both contain Phosphoric acid. If you search the forum for somthing call "milk stone down" I understand it's a product used to remove limescale in milking equipment. It is said to be a stronger dilution of Phosphoric acid and cheeper but not yet tried, keep meaning to pop into a farm products shop. Once I have treated rust with the acid I give it a spray with Galv spray from ScrewFix 6 tins for about £20. Not the cheepested way with galv spray but in rattle cans so convenant and protects till I get around to a proper finish. I also spray on back of panels and patches that won't be accessable once welded on and it does seam to stay and not burn off. remove from area to be welded as it upsets the weld pool. See pic of products below
