Hi I have just brought a Powershack 190R dual gas/gasless mig However I am having problems getting the fluxcored wire (sip 0.8mm) to feed. It runs for a couple of feet and then spits itself sideways from the wirefeed wheels. I replaced the liner twice this weekend as it blocked up and it still did it. I have a reel of of .8mm solid wire for use with gas and that worked ok so I am assuming the problem lies with the gasless wire or the feed wheel. When pulling the wire from the liner I have noticed it was serrated as is the wirefeed wheel It is sized at 0.8 and 1.0mm and the problem persists regardless of which groove I set the wire into.
Should there be a different feed wheel for gasless wire?
also what gas do I need for welding mild steel. Someone suggested a pub CO2 cannister Is this ok or would I be better with something else. and what sort of money are talking about for a bottle, regulator and hose?
Sorry for the long post but I'm new to welding and haven't got a clue
