Poo pipe near miss.

I was rodding the sewer pipe this morning as we had a blockage yesterday and got the rubber plunger stuck about a meter in!
After some gentle pulling it was still stuck fast so I gave it a good yank and this happened leaving the broken bit in the pipe

I think it's where the new 4" plastic pipe reduced to 3" clay.
Luckily I got it back up after a few tries.
Anyone know if I can buy a new one that's 3" diameter?

I've never come across 3 inch clay pipes.
All the il pipes I've seen are still the same internal diameter as modern pvc. They are usually 5 inch OD with 1/2 inch wall.
But I could be wrong

I've seen 3" teracotta whilst doing demo work you can usually break them with a stern glare.

Our sewer pit is out in the front garden & blocks up every few years due to a long shallow fall & greasy fat build up. I got a decent pressure washer & the drain snake is excellent, self feeding up the pipe & has made the rods obsolete.
The snake has a red marker on it & you should not pull it out past this point when its running or else nasty things happen very quickly.
A few years ago it all blocked up on Boxing day. I had a stinking cold but got the gear out & went at it with my son helping. I did one end then went round the back of the house & did the trap that end. I pulled the snake out too far. In sparrows fart time It blew the shallow trap clean vertically as i was standing over it.
Up my nose in my mouth & eyes. My glasses were dripping with old john brown & i stood there spluttering trying to wipe my mouth out with the inside of my jumper, At this point my trousers fell down. So did my son who promptly rolled on the floor for the next ten minutes nearly dying of laughter.
Even i had to admit it was funny.
It is a shame it wasnt videoed as It would have been a viral internet sensation.

My neighbors toilet was plumbed with a bit of 3" down pipe.

They did a proper job. Where the 3" met the 4", they wrapped a plastic bag around the (expanding) joint and hoped for the best.

Back to the poo Ours is reinforced rubber sheet and brass washers. Same style as this but in 40 years never had a problem with it.
