Polyurethane W/proof coatings....

I'm sure all of us get Ads for overpriced stuff on our FB feeds.... and recently I got one for the above (which of course  looks amazing stuff in the Vid etc).

It got me thinking though if Polyurethane roof sealants were
a) actually any good
b) what brands are good
c) could the stuff be a good product for use on vehicles (I.e. as an underbody / chassis coating.

In theory it looked like it could be.... but.....

I'm sure the idea is great but real life use may take a few years to get the mix correct......
there's a brick silicone water proofer that was all the rage when I lived in older houses years ago....no experience tho....
I've found that there's always a catch....
doesn't like prolonged UV, cracks after a few years etc etc....there's always something to go wrong.....
If it's to good to be true....!!!!
