pollen filter and water in car

My car -an Opel (Vauxhall) Combo fills up with water on the drivers side (LH drive here), mate said it was the pollen filter-it had never been changed as far as I know. Anyway, it was changed and the water is still coming in.
He now thinks that the drainage channels are silted up from what he has heard.
I know nowt about pollen filters etc, so does that mek sense to the car mechanics on here?

I am nearing the purchase of a car, and from what I have read across various makes this is a common problem solved by cleaning the drainage channels out.

Easy peasy.

Corsa c based or corsa b based? Corsa c (rhd) fills with water on the right through the steering column and pedal plate, and on the left through the fuse box. Possibly reversed on lhd but don't know (the fuse box I mean, obviously the steering column is reversed)

Yeah and that panel is a right pain to reseal. I used to use the non setting putty stuff as it flexes too much for silicone etc.

A common problem on BMWs, clear out the rubber drain [some even remove the 'grommet' altogether to prevent recurrence].

Passenger side is the bcm cover. The seals go on them. You need to purchase a new lid with seal. Or cauk it but will be hard to remove in future. If it leaks drivers side it comes through the servo mounting plate in the bulkhead.

That's a very good guide there. I call it the bcm box (it's in there with the relays)

Done loads of these. Pain in the **** digging all that old sealer out.

I have heard of people just removing the scuttle cover and putting a sheet of plastic over then replacing it. Clean the drain holes out though if you are removing the cover. Our Berlingo had a problem on the driver side and the drain on that side has about half a bucket of compost and 3 pint of water in it.

I am in the middle of doing mine, just got the two servo bolts left to remove before i seal mine
rain has stopped play at the moment hoping to get it sealed over the weekend.

Ahh, memories of that damned fusebox! The leak comes down the windscreen, and straight under the fusebox, into the passenger footwell (RHD), then I'm de-icing the inside of the windscreen before work of a morning. The back seats had mushrooms growing when I got the car off a mate (for a song) as he'd had it sitting unused for three months.

Never thought I'd have the car long so four years later still hadnt got round to sealing it. Glad I didn't if silicone wasn't going to get the job done, that would have just been annoying!
