Polishing Aerosol Can Valspar Polyurethane Gloss Lacquer

I have used some of this on top of a cream spray paint, but the finish is not as glossy as I had anticipated and is nigh on impossilbe to spray without orange peel.

Does anyone know whether this type of finish can be successfully cut back with wet and dry and polished up with rubbing compounds?

yes it should polish - just be aware there wont be anywhere near the thickness of 2k paints so be very gentle with any sanding , and a medium cut should bring it up as it polish easier than 2k /orig paint so start with your mildest polish

Thank you. I have just had a go at a small piece using just T-Cut for an experiment and it looks a lot better. I shall pop down to Halfords to get some fine rubbing compound.

Go to your local motor factors or paint supplier and get some 3m stuff. HALFORDS

Farecla products are what I use. G3 is a good general purpose compound, G7 I believe is designed for 1K, but check that!
