Saw it on the news last night and it was brilliant. These youths are snatching phones and bags on mopeds even driving on the pavement. The police tactic now is to crash into the them, there was some absolutely classic footage of them knocking them off the mopeds.

There was U tube video of the Russian police chasing drive/ride by snatchers.
The method in winter was "not nice"

If you chose to commit a crime like snatching people’s belongings you lose the right to be treated safely in your capture.
They certainly don’t have rules they go by to snatch people’s stuff. They don’t give a hoot if they drag an elderly woman to the floor while tearing off her hand bag at speed so the no rules system should apply to them too.
Whack em with a car yes.
I still think they should use stingers to end high speed bike chases here too.

and i agree heard a few years ago if being chased by a cop and driving like a nutter they would remove there helmet and throw it the police would then give up the chase as they dont want them to hurt them selfs

About time.
Policing is about appearance. They govern by our consent. If they appear weak there's no fear of recrimination and leads to behaviours of the last 30 years.
About time we started treating them according to there behaviour. If you want to live outside the laws don't expect the trappings of society to be applied to you.
We need to stop tolerating behaviour like this and make them accountable.

Years ago before digitized radio you could listen to the Police chases with a scanner, I heard a running commentary of a car chasing a bike which ended with "'kin hell Dave, you've hit him" followed by a request for an ambulance.

Well unless those that are criticising the method can come up with an equally effective measure to combat this problem then they should keep quiet and let the Police do their job. That IMHO is the problem with do-gooders.
The criminals are disrespecting the human rights of their victims by committing crimes so why should the criminals have their rights respected ? If you chose to break the law then your human rights should cease.
Lets get things in sequence...
1) You broke the law when you stole that ladies handbag.
2) The Police accidentally broken your leg when they knocked you off the scooter.
If you hadn't broken the law in the first place (1) then the Police stopping you as they did (2) would never have happened. Therefore it was the criminals original action that resulted in their leg ending up broken, ergo your own fault.
The do-gooders and lefty types shall soon put a stop to this, the police have got no powers at all nowadays and every single thing is recorded and used as evidence but unfortunately used against the police instead of working in their favour, solicitors shall be rubbing their hands waiting on these scroat type low life’s to put their claims in and sue the establishment, We must have the softest police force in the world because of PC, look at riots in France with the fuel prices, the police are straight out with the water cannons and tear gas, we’ve been on the slippery slope for the past thirty years, it’s not a good situation we’re in...

Yes, I remember that well - and had a good laugh at the time.
Personally I don't see how any one who thinks riding on the pavement,stealing mopeds,knocking people over and snatching bags and phones is ok is in any position to be arguing about the way they are apprehended but guaranteed there will be people think we should have a little chat and work through their issues.

Worth noting that virtually all the scooters used in these muggings have been stolen, there is a victim at the outset.
My mate in the London Met told me it had reached "olympic class" a little while back as I was telling him that my sons flatmate at Uni had his phone snatched on first day while talking to his mum - what a great intro to the capital city..
