Plywood shed flooring paint ..

I'm using 21mm ply for the floor of my new gym.

Going to cut everything to size and paint both sides and edges before it goes down, only part I worry about delaminationg/rotting.

What sort of paint is good for this?

Watered down emulsion would be good to assist the rotting.

It should last for years, unless it’s awash with sweat every day. Or if it’s laid on wet soil underneath. People build boats out of plywood, you know.

Weed membrane > 20mm gravel > 3x3 and 3x2 treated frame > dpm > plywood floor.

I paint all my ply with red oxide.....used to buy it from a place in Glossop via ebay 5 gall's at a time..
2 coats with a big roller....it never peeled.....thinned the first by 10-20% depending on the paint from the drum....

Think I would use a stain rather than paint, by choice Sadolin, good but never used it on a floor though

I will have this same conundrum in around half an hour I was thinking of using fence paint?

Low viscosity high penetration epoxy resin will completely seal the boards & prevent delamination

If the ply stays dry then just paint it your favourite colour.

I use solvent based "metal" paints on wood reasonably often. Works great.

It seems my shed floor is actually floor boards so I will just leave them be

Eldest painted his house stair treads with epoxy floor paint. I was very sceptical about it wearing off on such a high trafficked and concentrated wear application. Over 5 years now and only one mark - where he dropped something heavy enough to remove a chunk of wood - with floor paint still attached!

A Ronseal product I think - but if you are interested I can ask.

I used standard floor paint on an osb shed floor ,says you can use it on wood so good enough for me .

Well I've just had a look under my current gyms mats, the osb is now 7 years old and looks exactly the same as when I laid it.

I'll just slap on the 'barn' paint I'm going to use on the rest of it
