Put £10 of petroleum in the my partners sharan just to get her to town where the prices are sub £2.00!
Could of got away with it ,as usually there’s a fair bit of diesel in there,drove home 4 miles,no problem,still hadn’t twigged.half hour later she’s trying to start it to go out,then I realised.
Tried siphoning,then a hand pump,then get my workman to take me to the Land Rover garage to borrow a 12v job,still no fluid movements,so rip the interior out ,plus fuel sender and slip a pipe down the side,new filter,filled with conditioner,emergency gallon into the tank,she starts instantly,runs smoothly,put the interior back together just in time for school pick up,Helen comes home after doing her journey in my van with a cracked windscreen,sod all money earned today.

I did that some time ago with a Merc E class AMG - realised when the press start once wasn't starting it . . . back seat out, both tank caps off, empty tank, borrow next doors diesel cans, get it going, fill with diesel.

My Pug 106, 1100cc petrol used to smoke on start up for a while as it received the contents of the Merc tank .. . . Work car park used to disappear in a white cloud

The mileage issue arose at work and the ceo made himself look a right tit when I managed to keep my cool and get him to raise his voice and loose his cool

FWIW HMRC staff no longer use their own cars for business as the mileage rate isn't high enough. They now either use a pool car or for longer journeys a hire car !

Either £40 a small van courier for a ten minute drive each way

Or they value their staff and time

Obviously we are switching to the courier

Had a call to a dealer with a blown new RC30. ( Honda mega bike at the time) owner going ape . Dealer was in panic mode and wanted to strip motor . I told him NO I wanted to see it first. Got to dealer to find bike in pieces but no fault found. Questioned mechanic as to what customer said. Usual thing ,filled up with petrol and big cloud of white smoke . Sniffed tank Yup diesel. Dealer asked for me ( Honda ) to pay bill. Not a F*****g chance. Your decision to strip you pay. Next time do as I asked.
