Please help me setting up my ASEA-200 TIG

I got finally a TIG machine, an ASEA-200 TIG, and due to a bad manual, I wasn't able to do any proper welding with the machine so far.

I am interested in welding aluminum, I have 2.4mm tungston for aluminum, and 2.4mm aluminum welding rods.

I have no clue what amperage to use, and no clue how to set the other switches. Can anybody give me some clue?
What I need to weld is 3mm aluminum sheets, but either it burns a hole, or does not do anything at all.

All I would need to know is amperage and the other settings.

By the looks of it that is just a DC output machine and is not really suitable for welding aluminium, sorry

+1 on the above. This is a DC machine. Suitable for steel, stainless not aluminium. For Ali you need AC which is where the polarity changes between DC neg/pos,

Seriously? In the manual is written that it can weld aluminum... so am I screwed now?

When I saw the title I thought it would be an old bit of kit as the ASEA name disappeared in 1988 when they amalgamated with Brown Boveri to become ABB, but it looks like a Korean company has "borrowed" the name.
As far as I know ASEA never made welding equipment as their sister company was ESAB.

It is possible to weld Ali with DC only but not easily at all and a helium shield (expensive) . You need the AC to break through the oxide layer which has a much higher melting point than the Ali itself (only 600 degrees) AC also has cleaning properties on the positive side of the wave which is important for aluminium. Your machine looks to be DC only, I see no AC settings on it at all. If you have bought this to do aluminium only then I'm sorry to say yes it looks like you have wasted your money. On the upside though I imagine u have bought it used so if you did not over pay for it you should be able to resell and get back your investment as to which u can put towards an ACDC lump.
