Yep, bluetooth receivers are dirt cheap on Amazon or if you don't want bluetooth you can use a Raspberry Pi running Raspotify, getting the sound out either using the onboard 3.5mm jack or a HiFiBerry DAC board. I'm just using the onboard one, sounds fine to me. I prefer the Pi and network streaming to using bluetooth, you just play from it using Spotify Connect.

Too late for the OP, but I bought the latest Alexa Dot for the ridiculously low price of £18 on Prime Day a few weeks back.
It's in the garage and can play spotify itself and/or I can connect my phone to it via bluetooth. Plenty loud enough for the garage and the quality is amazing, especially for the price.
I don't particularly want to kick off yet another Amazon-is-evil debate, but it's worth looking out for these on the Black Friday sale if you're in the market for a speaker.

Just reminded me, Spotify Premium members get a 100 percent discount on a Google Nest mini (As in, it's completely free!). I think they've had a lot of orders though, I ordered mine a couple of weeks ago and the estimated delivery is the 28th of December!

We have a Yamaha music cast box plugged into our amp. It’s brilliant. The cheap Bluetooth receiver we had before was rubbish. Always dropping out. With the music cast it streams the music from your WiFi rather than your phone. The phone/tablet just acts as a remote. We’ve had ours 3 or 4 years and if it went wrong I’d order another straight away.

So......
based on your recommendation I have just bought that model from a cheaper source on eBay.
It's to go the other way - a Bluetooth transmitter rather than a receiver. My Panasonic television can receive music via Bluetooth but doesn't transmit. As I'm getting a little hard of hearing in one ear, sometimes I want to listen via headphones - usually whilst SWMBO is watching YouTube video on knitting, crocheting, lace making, baking or whatever on her laptop via her headphones. The television has the usual 3.5mm M3 headphone socket, so should be good to go.
We do talk to each occasionally - honest.
