Plastic welding strength

I've an idea brewing for a multi use box to go on my flat bed trailer made out of two IBC tanks welded together thus creating something 1.8m long x 1.2m wide & 1m high. Ends with tap would cut off and jointed together with door made on one of the other ends. It'd need to be a strong join due to the moving on and off the trailer and I wonder if plastic welding is going to be suitable ?
I've hate to develop the idea further only to find the plastic weld fails easily.

I don't know a great deal on the subject but I sold a few machines to a Boat Builder and they made the Wheel house out of Aluminium but the entire hull was made from Plastic.

They showed me some of the Ballistic tests they had done, which basically included firing different types of firearms at a piece from various distances and it was incredibly strong, definitely comparable to Steel of the same wall thickness.

Also the good thing about it is when it's welded, the welding process itself does not cause any detrimental effects to the two joined pieces. In other words when you join the two together its a strong and has the same properties as if it had always been one piece.

I used to make plastic tanks years ago, had the welding tool for the job and joints were incredibly strong, some of the tanks I made were truck mounted and 500-700 gallon, never had a problem with any if the welds.
For this type of plastic PU adhesieve sealant won't stick properly

The IBC's are made from HDPE (High density Polyethylene) and are easily weldable witht he right gear
