Plastic coating on wire racking

I have a wire rack metal basket that has two broken joints - it is similar to the wire racks used for draining dishes etc.

I can weld them up fine, but the plastic coating around the joints will have to removed.

Is there anything I can get or do to repair the plastic coating?

I know there is that plasti-dip stuff, but I have never used it, and wasn't sure if it would go over the top of existing plastic dip?

You could try recoating using Plastikote....

Sugru. Like Plastidip but more versatile. Get a sample pack (12 x 5g pouches) and use it for all sorts of stuff.

It's amazing, developed in my own country and never heard of it... but you can guarantee I will be having some, having grip problems because of osteo arthritis brings many uses to mind.

That sugru stuff looks great - I too have never heard of it
