Plasma respiratory risks?

Hi

Know there are plenty of threads on Plasma eye protection but I wondered if there are any risks associated with plasma cutting with regards to fume, over and above, say MIG welding.

I have had a look on the net and it seems hex chrome can be an issue, is there anything of concern when cutting mild steel or other metals?
Does 'plasma dust' present only the same issues as grinding dust?

different metals different risk, different coatings just like welding and grinding at same time I suppose?

I would be inclined to wear a fume/nuisance mask at all times.I know when I was selling this type of kit Health and safety was paramount!!

I use the same fume extraction as for welding and a dust mask.

Chrome plated and possibly stainless will probably give off hexavalent chromium (which is carcinogenic ) and painted will give of bad fumes too but you'll be fine with just good ventilation, maybe a fan you make a bit of a draft and a respirator if you're worried. Dust is the same, you don't ever want to breath it in, if you're aware of dust being kicked up any you're breathing it in then you want to wear a dust mask or respirator.
