Hi folks.
Have been lurking around the edges of this forum, and a) not had a great deal of time to get stuck in, and b) not always a great deal of interest to contribute....
I have been around welding for some years, starting on traditional gas, moving to arc, and then to Mig.... Not attempted any Tig just yet, but keep thing about it..... Contructions have included, Gates, Railings, Industrial guards, Land Rover roll cages, and many more.....
My Plasma, a King 50, and its standard torch, i just changed the electrode tonight, and upon removing it, its stripped most of the thread out of the recieving end of the torch.... I've re-tapped the recieved (m4 i think it was), and got the plasma operational, but now i'm in the warm, thought id experiment with this forum....
Is this normal for the electrode to pull the thread out of a torch....(can't be can it???)
Do i repair it??? not attempted to dismantle yet...
or is it new torch time....
Appreciate your views chaps....
Over and out
Oz
