Hi new to this site and in need of advice . I m about to start a project of making a 2/5 the scale replica of a jagdpanther tank , and conventional tools just won't cut the mustard , I need to buy a plasma cutter but there's so many out there it got me confused ? I will be cutting through 3mm to 6mm steel , also price ! I d like to spend no more than £300-600 thanks in advance to anyone who offers insight

C'mon do it properly. The Jagdpanther is the most gorgeous tank ever (ok assault gun) When I took my lad to the tank museum we almost stole it.
If that was rolling towards me I would just surrender.
Ordinary tools wont cut the mustard? maybe not.
Rtech make decent plasma cutters in your bracket http://www.r-techwelding.co.uk/welding_equipment/Plasma_Cutter I have the P30 model and it struggles on 6mm sheet. 3m it manages fine. I have had mine for a few years and used it loads with no problems.
Dare I ask why you are building a Jagdpanther? has somebody upset you. Will you hire out later?
Oh and welcome aboard. If you are building one of these you will fit in well here.
6mm sheet sounds a bit excessive unless people are shooting big bore stuff at you.

Hi I will look into it , I thought I d rather ask people who use them rather than look at specs and well 2/5 scale in jagdpanther terms wil be the size of my mercedes vito ! And I m still in two as to how to construct it either to do base of 6mm original spec design or go with metal frame and clad with 3 or 2 mm sheets, I d probably want to be with 6mm original design hull then 3 mm on top with metal frame for support . I had this idea in my head for years! But then I couldn't weld! My plan is to make for people to drive it ! With enough attention to detail to fool the eagle eye ones ! It will be for sale eventually failing that an impressive toy!
