Ah but we were talking about grinding face shields, cos using plastic bottles for welding masks would be just plain silly Got a 3 litre box of Weston's 1st Quality for Chrimbo Hitch, no bloody room in the fridge for it though
Have you tried maplethorpe? Think someones oncle hfs a gafrde taht wiy ylu mhigt gjt a diccsuont.... Id double check any welding on it tho and mind the ****** zombies.
My mate was offered an ex council pickup at a good price but turned it down for a panel van. Ever since he is all ways on the phone asking to borrow my pick up needs to fetch some steel or cant get the stair case in to the van etc
Yeah, been pondering this one. Decided to go for a panel van, and probably a pick up later in the year. Security is always an issue with an open back, if you stick enough lock boxes on the back of it to house all the crap i carry round, there will be no room left.
I have a Mitsi double-cab (Animal) pick-up and it's a great truck but security is a real problem, I have a Carryboy top for mine which helps but the trouble is it has windows all round so people can still see what you've got inside it. Also, the load bed is bloody high up so it's awkward getting heavy stuff (like a 210kg miller tig ) in or out of it without lifting gear. Having said that, I wouldn't be without it!
The problem with all the 4x4 pickups is the running costs, say compaired with a van or 2wd pick up, the smaller the van the less you get in but the cheeper it is to run, I had a nackered fiesta van once that ran on a thimble of fuel, the bloady brava drinks it at a rate of knotts...(something fuel efficant makes a hell of a diffrence on that bottom line at the end of the FY) I also find the more space iv got the more crap I carry round, I often dont need a 1/4 of the stuff in it....
Hmmm, yeah, from plasma torch carriages to lemonade bottle face shields to vans then pickups!
Come on Peter, get using your gadget and steer this thread back on topic!
