Where is the best place to place axel stands ? Most times I get lucky to place them both on the jacking points but sometimes not always the case. Say if I’m jacking 1 side up on the front jack point (sill weld) il put 1 axel on the back jack sill point, and another on the sub frame I’m guessing on the biggest bolt I can find. Just looks uneven but is this ok ?. Only been doing this since the 2 rails that go underneath had bent abit last time I did it so something wernt right may have been a chassis. can’t find much online or in owner manuals where to actually put them just don’t want a car coming down. Sometimes underneath is just full of plastic! I do it to refurb wheels and don’t trust a jack alone holding it up. Any pics of diagrams where to put them would help a lot cheers

Most decent car manuals will give a drawing or diagram of were to jack and were to place axil stands.
it all depends on the car, here's one of mine
the chassis stands are placed under the anti roll bar mounts at the front
and under the chassis legs of the monocoque at the back
but I sometimes use the end of the back axle (to the left of the two bolt heads at the bottom of the picture)
at the front I also jack under the inner ball joint of the suspension arms
or under the floor under the re-inforced section with the holes on it (this is the front of the sill and passenger door.

Only to use a scissor jack nothing on axel stands!

No matter how good or well placed the stands were I always had some offcuts of wooden sleepers underneath, if the worst happens the car could only drop a few mm at most.

And remember topography and ground conditions will play a very important part in jacking/supporting too.
Helps to place a wheel under too, for the same reason as @cumbriasteve uses sleeper bits.
