Hi there,
I have these qualifications:
City+Guilds Mig flat welding cert('Introductory Metal-Arc-Gas-Shielded welding skills)
NVQ Level 2+3 in Fabrication+Welding Engineering
ABC Level 2 in Welding+Fabrication Practice(Mig, Arc+Tig)
City+Guilds Level 2 Tig welding Mild Steel (Butt flat, Lap fillet vertical up, Tee fillet vertical up, Butt vertical up, Tube to sheet-horizontal/vertical and TIG knowledge (oral)
City+Guilds Level 2 Tig welding Aluminium (Butt flat, Lap fillet vertical up, Tee fillet vertical up, Butt vertical up, Tube to sheet-horizontal/vertical and TIG knowledge (oral)
and am currently half way through a City+Guilds Level 2 Stainless Steel course (Butt flat, Lap fillet vertical up, Tee fillet vertical up, Butt vertical up, Tube to sheet-horizontal/vertical and TIG knowledge (oral) but am unsure where to go next! My college tutors are able to provide Asme tests but being as i am only a Mig welder i dont see that Asme in Tig would be the way to go unless im planning to go for a Tig welding job. My tutor suggested that i should learn how to Mig a pipe in position and then get an Asme qualification in it as basically a qualification in pipe position 'superseeds' any of the Tig qualifications i currently have!
What are anybody's thoughts on this please?
