So this is a new version of our customers machine, you can see all the pipework is stainless.

Customer came over this morning and is happy to go with the proper stainless hygienic fittings, however we could do with a bit cheaper price. Berkley came back at north of £200.

@Hitch how do the SMS unions differ from the BS ferrule triclamp unions? Are they better and are they more expensive?

Is that for a bsp-tri clamp fitting? When I looked, the threaded parts were at least three times the price of the weld ferrules, and I was only looking at 1" stuff.

Try Pipeline Products.... £200 sounds a lot for 4 unions (unless) unless they're specials with bsp fittings. They can't be that big.

On the flipside, if that's bsp ones ready to go, and all you need is to make 2 straight pipes and screw some fittings on I guess it's not that bad.

SMS have a nut that takes C-spanners... sort of like an RJT, in the sense it has a nut, male, liner and seal.
Bit less forgiving than an RJT when it comes to alignment.
