Pipe fitting

Just managed to borrow a small bottle of argon and regulator from a mate to finish a job but cannot connect it to my welder (clarkes 100 en) as the pipe on his guage is a larger bore, can i buy the small chrome fitting that my small white pipe fits into and insert it into the larger pipe or can I take the bit of my clerks disposable bottle guage and fit that into the larger pipe somehow ?.
Cannot afford to buy yet another guage at the moment so have to do things the cheapist way, not the best thing to do I know but i have no choice.
Also do the regulators for argon fit all the differnt size bottles.

There's a piccie of the adapter thata installs into a pipe in this thread: http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=1851 Should imagine it's possible to buy one seperately. Weldequip is normally handy for that sort of thing.

Just putting the smaller pipe inside the bigger pipe doesn't work. Pops out under the pressure even with lots of jubilee clips. My botch involved imperial brake pipe fittings (same thread as the small bottle reg) though I'd imagine the proper bit is cheap and would be with you the next day.

SMC would have something, they are in milton keynes. To be honest though it may be cheaper to buy the whole hose and reducer assembly.
