Pillar Drill

I'm looking to get myself a pillar drill for the man cave, funds are limited, have seen some on the bay of flea some at £60 some just under the ton, any recommendations please?

The really cheap new small bench top pillar drills are pretty c**p in my opinion, all right for drilling printed circuit boards and plastics but the spindle speeds are to high for decent size holes in metal and underpowered for large holes in wood.
Better to get a second hand Meddings/Corona/Pollard type drill.

I have a cheap £40 one, Stalls quite easily with a 5mm drill on min speed. Just no go to them whatsoever.

Hmm I'll keep me eye out for a seconhand one, or maybe spend the money on a linisher
