Fun idea, my only constructive criticism on the contrary is that you may make it hard to see if a weld does actually start to crack in subsequent years.

One of our sites did MC MOTs
Guy came in just after we bought it saying he wanted a MOT on a Yamaha fizzy, OK when can you bring it in? "I have the log book her" he said & stood there! well it does not work like that our man said we want to see the bike, a lot of muttering Mr***** never wanted to see it & off he goes.
About 3/4 hour later there he is again, don't know if any of you can remember the fizzys annoying little beasts with that buzzzzzzzzzzz.
We had not heard a sound, went into the MOT parking bay to find a wheelbarrow full of fizzy bits A for effort he pushed barrow over 1\2 mile

But if the DVSA turns up your mate will be on the line not you. I help out at a bike shop and have been there when they turn up to do spot checks and go through a test while they watch.

Yeah, seen them do cars.... And won't be worried about them testing my welds, they will be sound.... Just very ugly, and there's few reasons to fail ugly

Just weld it properly. If you want it to look crap hit Do it in some less critical way.
Posts saying “go over the good welds with a crap weld or go over it gasless” is terrible advice
Particularly if the good welding needs to be strong. Going over it fuses into it. Dilution from a crap weld into a good weld makes the good weld compromised.
If you want a lumpy weld then use some type of hardening putty or something like that to give it a lumpy effect and not dilute the proper welding.

My UMM Transcat was taken by previous owner to same MOT garage for many years. Often it only did less than 100 miles between tests and kept legal just because it was parked on a main road. I bought it with 10 months test and drove it home. It hasn't moved in 12 months as it need so much work to make it safe and legal. No way was the previous test a proper one as so many faults.

Reminds me of when I used to get my scooters mot'd went to the dodgiest place in the area, the old boy used to do the test on his forecourt.Check lights, press front brake and push forwards, press rear brake and push forwards, test done, go in office and collect certificate the had been written out before test.Sometimes the bike even matched the number plate.Took in race tuned 225 lambrettas with L plates and got them mot'd as 125's.People used to travel miles for an mot.

Back in the 60s there was a local place, Jack Nice. Take your bike there on a rainy day, he'd walk to the door, ask a few cursory questions and then write out the certificate

Weld properly then smear filler on top that you can sculpture

the cowboys do that on cars but dont weld them
