The last 2 weeks have been a bit rough, small understatement there. But I am alive and ……We cross that bridge later.
But this post has a serious point.
Going through some of my late Dads stuff and looking through the slides and photos. In there we found a slide dated Jan 70.
It shows me in a steel and wood supplier, we will not be posting it. But it shows rack upon rack of steel stock, you name it and it is there. Bottom rack were girders, top was threaded bar.
To the left is racks stuffed full of wood, again a vast selection, hard wood pine so much, some have labels, but they can not be read.
To the right is a open furnace and a host of machines.
Sadly all long gone, progress some say.
Now the point, the plot is set.
All the ends of the steel, Threaded bar, wood and the visible off cuts of each had a paint mark on them.
What did or does it mean?
My local steel stockist does not have that on show.
But in my dim and distance past I recall being told never to cut from the painted end.
So what do the paint marks mean?
Thanks for answering this.
Also thanks for putting up with the medication induced silly poss. It does help.
