Petter AVT

As I said in another thread (vintage engines) Ive been thinking of restoring our Petters engine but I dont know anything about it, does anyone on here know anything about them heres the serial numbers off the plaque:

Petter AVT

Diesel water cooled 1 cylinder

No: 633068

Ive been on the internet and cannot find any petters engines with the same model (AVT)

any help would be much appreciated

Its either AVT or AV1 on the plaque it looks like a captial T but without the horizontal line to the right of the vertical line if that makes sense

large is a very underestimated word but yes thats sounds like it, will take some photos of it now for people to see

AV1 sounds more like it

Yup, thats an AV1 !! Had one myself a few years ago. That flywheel is large, but not as large as the 2 on my Lister CS Start-O-Matic !!

most of the parts are in the yellow bucket that u ca see in the photo, and the cylinder head is behind the engine, Dad said the starter handle is in another shed somewhere on the farm, but there is a crack in the side of it when it froze in the 70's but it still worked for years after with no problem so hopefully it can still run.

Thankfully the flywheel still turns sweet

You will probably still be able to get a head and/or cylinder, to replace whichever is cracked. The AV1 is a good, solid engine, well made and engineered.

weve also got a milker to go with it, so u can milk one cow at a time but still havent found it, our sheds are like alladins cave but all rusty
