Pentagonal bit sockets / allen keys

I'm after some, but the only one I can find is a 10mm for Girling brake calipers. Anyone know a supplier?

Are you talking like a 5 sided Allen key? If so would a torx bit not work?

Blonde moment there, torx are six sided... I'll go home now!

On a useful note I have seen 5 sided bits but no clue what they were for or called, perhaps like a security bit of some sort.

used 5 sided ones with a hole in the middle, fitted its male counter part screw, sadly they were in Durham and Franklin Prison and Home office supplied, Might have an odd bit they didnt miss-- so much for security.!!!! Other less secure stuff got fixed tightened up and the socket hole drilled out, god knows what you do to get them out.
Have a look in the selection bit boxes for sale,the things with 100 bits in and none of them fit anything.-- always a bargain

The fastening come under the name Penta. So you would have Penta socket, Penta screw driver etc.

I know you can get 5 point security pentalobular bits. I have some going from TS10 to TS40. I think I could use a TS45 or TS50 which I think is about 8mm flat to peak but I'm not to keen on them because of the hole. They weaken the bits considerably. They are hard to find in the UK in the larger sizes.

I'm not trying to break into a prison, rather disassemble an ABS Hydraulic unit.

I needed to dismantle a brake caliper (probably Girling), and didn't have the five sided bit, so I ground five flats on an M12 bolt to make an adapter. Probably not the best solution, but it worked for me

In the end I ground down the 10mm pentagonal socket that you needed to produce an 8mm that I needed!

I've ground a small allen key down to make a triangular bit to get some screws out as the proper bit was too wide to fit the hole they were in.
