PCB design and build service?

Seen as I have a lot of time at the minute I've been working on a project, I've constructed something using pre made modules and wires, I would like to make something a bit nicer but my skill set doesn't extend beyond lashing pre-built modules together

I've joined CircuitMaker but no idea if that is what I actually want

Is it possible these days to upload a schematic (I'm sure I could manage that) give some details on connectors etc, exchange beer tokens and receive a built board?

I know someone, retired, who does exactly that - takes schematics from people and lays out the board, orders it, etc.

He does it a fair bit, and seems to know all the current deals / offers from the pcb places, so, although he charges, i suspect his cost is offset by the savings his market knowledge gives?

This is a clock he gave us when he visited. Its crazy (id need a video to show better). The leds are charlieplexed. SMD mount on both sides. The pattern all done in the solder layer.

He does a load of work with nixie stuff. That "american diner" bit of print i posted up the other day was something for him. (but, yeah, clocks are his interest, but he will do anything he is asked / paid to!)
