Can anyone tell me what this does on the welder may be a silly question but I haven't a clue

Well, a PCB is a printed circuit board (so, PCB board is saying printed circuit board board ) and it holds all the components that make up the control circuit...

And do you know what it does in the welder
Does it control the workings ect

The new probs I'm having is intermittent gas flow
Wire feed keeps stopping but I can hear a wuring noise from inside welder but the feeder isn't going round
Also intermittent arc
It's got a new 300 amp earth clamp
Plenty of gas

sip gas is on the trigger end like clarks

shoggi i can look at the machine for you if you want as ive had both versions and also a clarke and i have the testers for doing it

Not all of them.

I've got the remains of a migmate in the shed (the version with the transparent plastic door over the wire housing) and that one uses a gas solenoid and 2 wire unvalved torch.

I've seen a couple of the top loading type be factory fitted with gas solenoids too.

The very much later migmate I had used a torch valve.

Yes mine works from the trigger
Well the gas intermittently comes out when I press the trigger
My migmate is the top loader

If the gas, arc and feed are cutting out at the same time I'd be looking at a faulty trigger switch.

This is a bit ambiguous, the gas always works from the trigger insomuch as gas comes out when the trigger is pressed. There are 2 ways of doing this, 1) with a solenoid valve in the machine 2) a mechanically operated valve in the torch. Which is yours?

It's easy enough to tell. Follow the gas pipe into the machine. If it connects to a thing with wires coming out you have a gas solenoid. If it goes straight through to the torch then you have a mechanical valve.

I will take a look tomorrow I was thinking about buying a new torch so I will check it out tomorrow
