A while ago I connected a normal flat screen TV to a PC as a monitor in our family room, so we could stream stuff (I don’t think we actually have a working aerial tbh). It’s worked fine, but my wife uses it as a PC more than I realised she might, and she’s been getting pretty bad headaches the last few months. There could be various reasons for the headaches and she’s seeing the doc about it, but I’d like to rule this out - even if it isn’t the problem its bugging me that it could be contributing and having a quick look about it looks like a poor spec anyway (just cheap at the time I guess):
She sits about 1.5m away from it and I think one problem is the mounting position, but the resolution is a bit out of date too.
Daft question probably, but does it make any difference if it’s a telly or a dedicated monitor? Having a remote for volume / swapping HDMI channels etc seems handy - I haven’t seen many PC monitors with remotes (but most of my monitors have been hand-me-downs and I’ve never really been shopping for one until now).
Is refresh rate a thing with TVs?
Any advice appreciated from DSE experts.
