PayPal charge

On a recent purchase using PayPal , right at the end of the transaction in small pint, 3.5% charge for using Pp. Never come across it before, is becoming usual?
Would be more acceptable if the selling business was up front about it at the start of the transaction rather than sneaking it in right at the end after carriage and vat.

Probably the supplier tacking on the costs on their side.

I have an iZettle chip and pin unit for taking payments etc and that charges 2.75% per transaction - I would guess that the supplier pays 3 ish % and passes the cost straight onto the consumer.

check with ebay.. I don't think you are allowed to pass on paypal charges

I had that happen when paying a courier firm to collect something for me, it wasn't made clear at the onset that if I paid by paypal there would be a charge, it just appeared on the final invoice when it was to late, had I paid by debit card the charge would not have been made. I complained and got no reply, I complained to trading standards and they couldn't give a monkeys.
