Payment for ebay sale

Its my understanding that eBay and PayPal have gone through a divorce, so why are eBay still insisting that PayPal is still shown as a mandatory method of payment?

Most sellers are still with paypal and many dont want to move to the new Adyen powered system. They told me they will be forcing the move over the next year or so. If the payment options show google or apple then that seller will be using new system.
As a buyer I think its good, paypal have zero support or protection and **Language**ed me about for a few months.

On Ebay I now get a bit of a menu giving me a choice/method of payment, its been like that for a while, I have to select paypal.

Advertised a 125 on eBay recently and the same thing cash only collection on the advert but have to use PayPal...
