I'm not sure how bottle owning works. I bought a second hand welder that came with a full (pub size?)bottle of co2. There is a stencilled print on the side saying this bottle is property of...........
I thought cool someone local to get refills from emailed them then tried ringing to find the company has gone bust. So who owns the bottle now![]()
I only know that genuine gas bottles, for welding, are only ever rented on a monthly basis, or the rent free ones where you pay for "right of use" over a number of years.
Please note that not all "Rent free deals " are not "right of use " ( rental in disguise ) most are refundable deposits that are not time limited.
Could you tell me who? and what the deal is.....only because I'd like to get one....legitimately of course.
Oh, and there's two "nots" in your post, can I read that as "not all rent free deals are right of use"?
Hi ,
your right about the " nots " was rather a long day yesterday , even at 8.00 in the evening .
My company , Southwest Gas Supplies Ltd , have distributors in Norfolk where you can pay a refundable deposit for a cylinder and then pay for the gas . The full list of distributors is on the website, www.southwestgassupplies.co.uk .
We also offer forum members a cashback on their first bottle ( £10.00 on 10 litre and £20.00 on 20 litre bottles ) All you have to do to get the cashback is to send me a PM confirming the purchase then post ( yes snail mail ) a copy of your invoice plus your details ) and we send you a cheque .
Alan
.
Don't worry about the "nots" I was teasing you!!
I'm just about to send back my air products bottle, and go down the rent free route.
So, I'd go to you and ask for a 20 litre argon/5% co2 bottle, what will be be my upfront cost?
I assume I'd pay the deposit? £?
And also pay for the 20l gas £?
Is there anything else on top of that? and I assume I keep refilling the bottle as I need, and keep the bottle for as long as I need? then if I give up welding, I take the bottle back and get my deposit back???
Thanks for taking the time to answer these, my air products bottle is now empty, and looking at doing this sooner rather than later!
Thanks for that Alan,
Well I just phoned Central auto Supplies....they haven't got any, and I was a little bit taken aback by the price.
£65 deposit for the bottle (20l) and then £69.99 + VAT for the gas!!
Is this about right??
I don't mind the bottle deposit, but i thought the gas price was a tad high...or am I out of touch?!!!
