Bout the same as most of the Nissans I weld!...although I think they use 1.2mm for the structural bits .Land Rover bulkhead repair panels are thinner than the ham in a British Rail sandwich ... last one I welded in was 0.7mm
I have the 250A Paton (power supply and separate wire feeder) but I've only used it for MMA welding so far...it did the MMA very well + it's very robustly made so can't fault the build quality on it. The LCD with push button adjustment I'm not a huge fan of I have to say....but worked fine.
For the thin car stuff I use my Kemppi Evo 200 which is a superb machine for the job.
