Paton promig 160-15-2

Before I pay out for one of these can anyone suggest a better option or any reason not to?
The minimum 8 amp is the main reason for purchase, or would you buy the one box 160?


Another question though, where would I get an extension lead to connect the twl units.. paton went quiet and im still awaiting response from wsd

I'm pretty sure mine came with the connector as standard....they maybe didn't understand the question I reckon.

The 8amp?....pretty sure most inverters basically go down to practically zero (even though a lot of the spec sheets say differently!)

I mainly use my Paton for stick welding...can't really fault it for that. I think the newer model has knobs instead of the buttons which is an improvement.

it comes with a short connector, they say that it can be extended but as yet they apparently dont do anything

Do you mean the torch length?...when I asked they said that the shorter torch is better with the X2 roller feeder...for longer torch lengths there recommended I upgrade to the X4 I think.

There odd looking machines but what little i've heard as mig goes has been good so far. What's their thinking behind building them that way, I'm just asking? i'm used to separate wire feeders that swivel or are on wheels some are even on a bit of track but that's because the power plants are huge and too big to lug around.

The duty cycles are a lot better and it will accept 15kg rolls, not that I'll ever use that much
