passat problems!

just rebuilt 2,0 ltr 20 valve cylinder head for dads passat,(water pump went-ouch)any body got valve and camshaft setting info?engine code A L T?

For some reason my Autodata isn't coming up with that engine code !!!

appears ther is a "special tool" for this, only available fae dealer

That engine is from an audi A6/A4/A3 and all I can find on the timing side of things is

Ignition Timing - Basic BTDC : not adjustable
Ignition advance : ECM Controlled
Valve Clearance (inlet/exhaust) : Hydraulic


You would be best to take it to an engine reconditioner to have the shims set for correct clearance. Should cost about £40

valve clearances hydraulic mate, no shims. used to work at engine remanufacturers and even old boss cant help.info and tools only available from vag.
