parweld ?

Hello all you welders, my son has just started college doing engineering and in his first year he is doing mig welding and seems to like it . Next year he will be doing tig , I work at rolls Royce and they're all on tig here.
so I am thinking of buying a small tig plant for Xmas to get some practice on .
I'm looking at Parweld XTS412 140A and a JASIC PRO ARK LIFT TIG are these plants up for the job

Both welders you mentioned are mma welders with a lift TIG capability, that means no high frequency start or adjustability. Lift TIG is a sort of "crude" version of TIG (I don't know if crude is the right word) but an out and out TIG set with the necessary gubbins would help the learning curve IMO. Something like a Jasic TIG 180, Thermal Arc 175TE or Parweld XTT 182, they'll all do the trick but I'm not sure if what budget you're working with.
